July 2024, we packed up our entire house and our small family and hopped on a plane with nothing but a suitcase, a backpack, a stroller and a crawling baby. Our flight to London was a breeze and the 6 weeks we spent there were both challenging and magical. I had the privileged of meeting some lovely moms in London who explained the medical system and how natural birth is handled in the UK. Sadly, Home births are illegal in many of the areas. With Natural birth but more so Home births being the focus of my Birth Photography learning this was definitely disheartening but nowhere near what I learnt about the birth statistics in South Africa with About a 80% c-section rate VS the 30% we have in the states. We spent 4 months exploring South Africa with so many unforgettable memories made and stories to still be told. For now we have settled in Charleston, West Virginia. I will be focusing my time and energy on Birth Photography in and around the Charleston area as well as St Albans , Hurricane, Teays Valley, Barboursville, Hunigton, New river Gorge and surrounding areas. My photography will focus on Primarily Natural birth as I am first and foremost a birth photographer. My mission is to normalize natural birth and educate moms on the strength they have. I also offer Birth announcement photography, Maternity photography, Newborn photography, fresh 48 photography, First birthday photography and mommy and me photography sessions as well as family sessions.
